"Hollow Space" - EP

“Hollow Space” embraces an indie-rock / alternative influence with an overall theme of mental health. For his second release, Hue McMahon takes a quality-over-quantity approach and gives the listener a lot of hidden messages to unpack. McMahon focuses in on the emotions that make people feel truly alive – feelings of attraction, hope, anxiety, fear, escape, mental clarity, and more. He brings out these emotions through his continuous use of ambiguous lyrics and intense sounds, as we also saw in his first release, “HUE”. “Hollow Space” has a satisfying balance of lyrical and musical meaning, like the seductive hooks that keep you chasing someone in “Kaleidoscopes”, or the apocalyptic, ear shredding guitar solos that catch your attention in “The End as We Know It”.

Justin Tubis is a singer/songwriter from San Diego, California, performing under the stage name of “Hue McMahon”. Discovering folk music at an early age, Justin is heavily influenced by its genuine lyrics and musicality to this day.
